Death does not end life, merely redefines it. Without the flesh buffer the sensitive energy of the soul is heightened. Thoughts, feelings, experiences, and wisdom are all put into practice as memory redefines the senses of sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell. The dead can see, hear, taste, feel, and smell, because memory never forgets, like the sight and sound of a loved one, or a fresh cup of coffee, or a warm embrace captured in an old photo that only feels out of reach, as well as emotional impulses and reactions like joy, pain, and anger. As a conscious entity, your senses would also thus be heightened in sensitivity by vibrations and frequencies, kind of like a dog whistle that is much more muted in life with a flesh buffer. You would likely be able to perceive things that the living cannot, like something or someone approaching in the distance or nearby movement, and if you honed your senses on some sudden vibration or frequency you would likely be able to deduce the cause of it, as well as the meaning or intention. In the same respect, with memory to guide, the intellectual soul can easily intuit people and places, because it can easily imagine it. You would be able to distinguish people and places and be able to move between and among them with ease by honing your senses on the vibrations and frequencies of voices, movements, and surrounding environments.

Also, without the flesh buffer the soul would wield its energy freely, manipulate and move itself as you might arms and legs by memory of motor skills as automatic as breathing, like a man that has lost his legs but can still feel them as if they were still there. Likewise, if you were to stare at your hands in front of your face for a moment and then close your eyes you would still "see" your hands by memory. Because you speak by automatic memory using breath and vocal tones, you would no longer need a mouth or vocal chords. You would be able to manipulate sound and space by making whispering breaths of winds accompanied by hollowed tones, like blowing over an empty bottle. Because you possess the force to move your body in life your energy currents would remember how to propel you and carry you forward, and would alight your step with no flesh bound by gravity, only the memory of gravity which you would then also be able to manipulate and command. If your energy currents are compelled by automatic memory then you might be able to stay your hand to touch someone or use force to move objects or knock something over. I know that I have had my share of weird and unexplainable things like this happening in my life that feels more meaningful than just strange coincidence.

As well, how the dead appear to themselves or each other or perhaps even to the living would then also depend on memory. As the living change appearances during a lifetime, sometimes younger, sometimes older, appearance would then be influenced by a timeline or by a memory itself. As a child, as an adult, as a parent, as a grandparent or whatever best version of themselves suits the need as a memory that evokes joy, pain, or anger. The dead would likely be able to intuit thoughts, feelings, memories, perceptions, and ideas to and from each other to communicate using the heightened sensitivity frequency, not unlike whales. It stands to reason that the dead would then also be able to intuit a thought, feeling, memory, perception or idea to the living as well to convey a message or call attention to something relevant or that's happening now. It could be in dreams or while awake, at night or during the day, but when you are visited it is for good reason. It would probably be something important, like a warning that may be urgent or it could be for encouragement and empowerment when you need to take action. It could also be for love and uplifting or for comforting in grief. If you brush it off as a strange coincidence you might be missing a very meaningful cue. Think on it, even if you think it's foolish, and be honest. Does it make you feel good or danger? Is it friendly or menacing? Is it a loved one looking out for you or someone that you have wronged seeking vengeance? You will want to know, for sure.

My ghosts are all living dead loved ones that are always looking out for me. I am plagued only by living sinners that only perish in death.
